About Bonaire
Bonaire: is one of the ABC islands, the others are Aruba and Curacao, and belongs to the Netherlands Antilles. The total country area of Bonaire is 288 km2. Bonaire. lies 80 km north of Venezuela, 50 km east of Curacao and 95 km of Aruba.
Climate: Bonaire has a tropical climate. The average temperature on Bonaire is 27 degrees Celsius. It becomes by day about 30 degrees and at night it cools down but only a couple degrees. Between summer and winter minimum differences exist. The coldest month is January and the warmest month is September. The sea temperature is by the end of November up to April between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius, afterwards sometimes rising up to 29 degrees Celsius. In the month of October, November and December falls most rain what on average approx. 500 mm a year is.
Population: The population on Bonaire is very pleasant. On the street one greets each other and everyone has enough time for a chat. The official language is Dutch however the daily language on Bonaire is mainly Papiamento, English and Spanish.
